Lobuche East Peak
The Story
Lobuche East Peak, standing at 6,119 meters (20,075 feet), is one of Nepal’s renowned trekking peaks in the Khumbu region, close to Mount Everest. Known for its challenging terrain, steep sections, cold temperatures, and high altitude, climbing Lobuche East requires strong physical endurance, proper acclimatization, and technical skills. Summiting this peak is a significant achievement and provides breathtaking views of Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, and the surrounding Himalayas.
Before moving further into academia and mountaineering, Sangya spent more than a decade in banking and corporate work. Her professional experience, combined with her MBA and PhD studies, gives her a background spanning business, education, leadership, and adventure sports.
“Mountains do not care about your background or comfort zones. When fixed lines end on an exposed 50-degree ice headwall at 6,000 meters, it all comes down to mental stillness and determination.”

SUMMIT COMMENDATION & LEADERSHIP
Beyond The Summit
Mountaineering is not solely about standing on top of peaks. It is defined by rigorous conditioning, respect for Himalayan communities, mental tenacity, and safeguarding our fragile alpine ecology.
High-Altitude Conditioning
Endurance running, high-incline cardiovascular load training, hypoxic breathing conditioning, and mental resilience drills to prepare the body for the death zone and sub-zero Khumbu winds.
The 'Now or Never' Philosophy
The mountain does not wait for ideal conditions. Whether stepping onto an exposed 50-degree ice headwall or leading complex corporate strategies, fear is transformed into calculated, unwavering focus.
Sherpa & Mountain Community
Climbing in humble partnership with Himalayan Sherpa guides and communities. Championing ethical guiding compensation, Sherpa children's education, and celebrating local mountain culture.
Himalayan Eco-Conservation
Passionate advocate for keeping Nepal's sacred peaks clean. Practicing strict Zero-Waste expedition ethics, carrying out all high-camp waste, and raising climate awareness on glacier recession.
“The mountain does not wait for tomorrow. You either take the step into the cold wind today, or watch the horizon fade.”
Embodied in the spirit of ‘Now or Never’, Sangya brings relentless focus to high-altitude Himalayan summits, doctoral academic research, and community-driven storytelling.
